Calcined Dolomite

Calcined Dolomite or Burnt Dolomite or Calcium and magnesium oxide are obtained from dolomitic minerals such as calcium carbonate and magnesium (Ca Mg (CO3) 2, through the process called calcination.

Ca Mg (CO3)2 + Heat → CaO MgO

When heated at a high temperature, dolomite loses its reactivity and the product is known as burnt dolomite. Burnt dolomite is a refractory material  Calcined dolomite is found in applications in the iron and steel industry, such as in scorifiers and refractory lining protectors, in agriculture as a soil conditioner and in the environmental sector in water treatment, among others.
